Innovate4Climate Journalists Workshop

Date: 14 March 2022

Innovate4Climate, in collaboration with REVOLVE, will deliver a 4-hour online workshop in English on 23 May 2022 under the umbrella of Innovate4Climate 2022 – the World Bank Group’s flagship climate action event.

The workshop will bring together around 24 journalists and media professionals from the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region alongside technical experts to deepen their knowledge on carbon markets and carbon pricing. The event is also open to a small number of junior journalists (with a maximum of two years of experience) who want to increase their knowledge and receive tailored support to report on the topic.

Combating climate change is an urgent priority worldwide, and the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) is a global hotspot. Transformation is needed in the global economy to achieve the Paris Agreement objective of limiting temperature rise to 1.5 degrees in the next two decades and mitigating the associated effects of climate change ranging from food security to social stability and migration.

Increasing media coverage and understanding of carbon markets is essential in order to combat climate change. The workshop is free and open to media professionals from the Middle East and North Africa region to submit their applications by filling out this online form by Friday 8th of April 2022.
