AMWAJ Fellowship Program for Journalists: Apply by 30 September
The AMWAJ Fellowship Program aims to empower young professional journalists by providing financial support and mentorship to produce an impactful story on sustainability.
The Fellowship Program is open to applicants from the Southern and Eastern Mediterranean region and will select one candidate for this first cycle, which will take place from January to April 2025. The selected fellow will receive a lump sum of €1,000 per month. Justified travel and accommodation expenses will also be covered.
MedCities Hosts Climate Adaptation Workshop in Barcelona
The "Mediterranean Climate Change-Adaptation Metropolitan Initiatives Workshop", co-organized and hosted by MedCities and the Barcelona Metropolitan Area (AMB), took place in Barcelona on 18 and 19 September. The workshop aimed to share experiences on climate change strategies, focusing on solutions for Mediterranean cities. Nine member cities of the MedCities network presented their best practices and shared their experiences during the session, which is part of the EU-supported project "Make a Move for Adaptation to Climate Change."

CREAF researcher Estela Romero has written an editorial in the journal "Science of the Total Environment" in which she concludes that the massive use of nitrogen in agricultural fertilizers has led to an increase in agricultural yields, but also to an inefficient system that loses almost 80% of these nitrogen inputs.
