AMWAJ recently organized Tabadul's webinar "Fighting Disinformation: Tools and Strategies for Fact-Checking" in honor of Mediterranean Day. The event brought together valuable insights and perspectives from experts in the field.

WE&B Promotes Innovative Solutions and Stakeholder Action in Tunisia
WE&B and MedCities - both AMWAJ members - worked together in Gabès, Tunisia, to address water scarcity by promoting innovative solutions such as rainwater harvesting and wastewater reuse. This partnership engaged local stakeholders to develop sustainable water management strategies that support both urban and agricultural needs while preserving ecosystems. Creaf Together With Beta Technology Center Bring Citizen Science to the Next Congress of Sibecol and Aeet
CREAF and the BETA Technology Center (UVIC-UCC), two entities with extensive experience in citizen science projects, are collaborating to organize a special session dedicated to this topic at the III Congress of the Iberian Society of Ecology (SIBECOL) and the XVII National Congress of the Spanish Association of Terrestrial Ecology (AEET), to be held in Pontevedra from 2 to 7 June 2025.
WE&B and MedCities Are Advancing the URWAN Project
WE&B and MedCities are advancing the URWAN project, co-funded by the EU through the Interreg Euro-MED program, focusing on Work Package 4 (WP4): the URWAN Amplification Strategy. WP4 aims to Engage policy makers and stakeholders to address barriers to nature-based solutions (NBS), co-create solutions and amplify results for improved governance decisions. Efforts will include analyzing lessons learned from pilot cities (Rome, Ptuj, Ferla, Cuba, Sarajevo, Larnaca) and frontrunner cities (Barcelona, Cascais), developing a living lab in Ptuj, improving data sharing, and identifying training needs.
WE&B - Building Climate-Resilient Societies Together: NATALIE’s Journey Through Transformation Labs
WE&B is driving the implementation of the Transformation Labs for the NATALIE project, working closely with the University of Thessaly to develop the methodology and support this long-term initiative. Currently in the diagnostic phase, this process is already demonstrating strong teamwork and creating meaningful local impact at the demo sites.
MedWaves - COP 29: Exploring the Power of Strategic Finance
"What would it cost to drastically reduce greenhouse gas emissions and address the ever-increasing impacts of the climate emergency for all? The answer is a lot – somewhere in the range of trillions of dollars. Facing this hurdle and developing networked solutions was one of the key focal areas during UNFCCC COP 29 negotiations, which took place in Baku, Azerbaijan from 11 – 22 November 2024."
