Communicating the shift towards water resilience
Note from the Editor
"I met Shireen Abu Aqleh in Ramallah when I was starting out as a freelancer in Jerusalem while finishing my Master’s at the American University of Beirut. She was a warm and welcoming woman who seemed in control of the situation despite living under an illegal military occupation. I felt like she knew where to go all the time in order to cover a story well, until she was shot by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) on 11 May 2022 for no apparent reason (pending investigation ongoing) in Jenin refugee camp. On behalf of REVOLVE, we denounce her unnecessary death and call for the creation of a Shireen Abu Akleh Freedom of Speech Award to not let this happen again. Let her death not be in vain: let it give courage to the next generation of journalists to fight for what they believe in."
