Climate reporting media training for Lebanese journalists

Berytech, in collaboration with REVOLVE under the ActSmart Innovation Hub Initiative funded by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Lebanon, will provide two day online training in English on the 2nd and 3rd of February 2022, followed up by a month of mentorship.

The program will provide an opportunity for Lebanese journalists to learn more about agritech (water, energy, food, and environment) and cleantech in a collaborative setting with professionals in the field. After the training, participants are expected to produce a journalistic piece building up on the knowledge and insights gained.

The journalistic piece produce by the trainees will follow the requirements described in the training concept note. The best journalistic work will receive a long-term prize of being a regular paid Berytech freelancer authoring 2-3 editorials every month. The second-best article will be featured in the AMWAJ community space Tayyarat, REVOLVE Magazine, and Berytech’s website, as well as on the platforms’ respective social media. Both winners will be honored at the 2022 edition of AMWAJ Tabadul, which will coincide with World Water Day.

Lebanese journalists with a proven track record or interest in environment and climate change topics are invited to apply to participate in the Berytech media training filling in this online form by the 10th of January 2022.
