SECOND AMWAJ MEDIA FELLOW

Introducing Hanin Haidar Ahmad, the second AMWAJ Media FellowÂ
Hanin is a Lebanese freelance multimedia journalist, videographer and editor with over five years of experience in visual storytelling. Â
In a statement, she said:Â
“I am excited to be part of this fellowship and to work on a documentary about the Beirut River with the support of the AMWAJ Alliance team. The film will trace the Beirut River transformation from a vital waterway to one of the city’s most polluted sites. Through this story, I hope to highlight local initiatives working to restore the river’s banks and reimagine it as a shared space for resilience, community, and ecological renewal.”Â
The AMWAJ Media Fellowship selection committee were drawn to her intriguing pitch related to the Beirut River transformation and current initiatives to revive the river and the space surrounding it.Â
With guidance from AMWAJ, Hanin will use the Fellowship as a platform to explore these topics further, with particular attention and care given to the social implications in the Eastern Mediterranean.
Stay tuned for more updates and follow Hanin’s progress here on AMWAJ.Â
